6 months of this? A year at most? Being an artist trapped at home isn't always the worst thing. With anxiety, fear, and worry about everything from getting sick to societal collapse, drawing was/is a refuge. After the kids went to bed, and my wife went out to teach in the studio, I had time to dive into these drawings. These pieces were done in my kitchen while my kids slept, and my cats sat on my lap. I dove into themes of connection, touch, separation, interaction and whatever else was happening in my head that needed to get out. I played with lines and mark-making, and tried to find every possible mark that could be made with a pencil. I felt constantly rewarded as the fine flakes of graphite slid from the tip of my pencil and got caught in the fibers of the paper. Lines without boundaries.
